Convert, re-time & fix subtitles in 18 formats — free, in your browser
Every tool runs entirely on your own device and finishes in seconds. Nothing is uploaded, so your files stay private and it works offline — no installs, no sign-up.
Subtitles break in a few predictable ways. They drift out of sync, come in the wrong format for your player, run fast or slow after a framerate change, or fill up with garbled characters like é and “. Drop a file above to sort out any of these, or head straight to the tool you need from the menu.
Formats we handle
SyncMySubs reads and writes 18 subtitle, caption, lyric and text formats — from SubRip (.srt) and WebVTT (.vtt) to Advanced SubStation Alpha (.ass/.ssa), YouTube SBV, TTML, DFXP, SAMI (.smi), Scenarist SCC, EBU-STL and both kinds of .sub file (frame-based MicroDVD and time-based SubViewer), plus LRC lyrics and plain-text, Word, CSV and PDF exports. Shifting or reframing an .ass file keeps all of its styling and positioning and only moves the timings. Converting .ass to a plainer format keeps the text and timing but drops styling, and a frame-based .sub needs the video's frame rate to line up, so the tool asks for it.
Shift timing
Subtitles too early or too late? Nudge every cue forward or back by a precise offset.
Partial shift
Shift only part of a file: everything after a point, or a single range that drifted.
SRT → VTT
Convert SubRip to WebVTT for HTML5 <track> players and the web.
VTT → SRT
Convert WebVTT back to SubRip for desktop players and editors.
Framerate fix
Correct the slow drift from 23.976, 25, and 29.97 fps mismatches.
Fix encoding
Repair garbled accents and symbols, then export clean UTF-8.
Private by design — and you can check
“Nothing is uploaded” is easy to claim, so don’t take our word for it. Open your browser’s developer tools, watch the Network tab, and convert a file: no request carries your subtitles anywhere. The work runs entirely in this page’s JavaScript, on your device — there is no backend that receives files, so no server could read them even if we wanted it to. The simplest proof of all: switch off your connection and the tools still work.
The rest, stated plainly: the only analytics is a cookieless, aggregate visitor count that sets no cookies and never tracks you across sites, and the single ad below each tool is served by Google AdSense like ads anywhere — neither ever receives your file. And on the conversions themselves we aim to be faithful, not magic: each tool keeps everything the target format supports and tells you what it can’t — converting a styled ASS file to SRT keeps the text and timing but drops styling, and says so before you download.
